Chandigarh:
Unaccounted income worth Rs 20 crore was unearthed in a series of raids by Income Tax sleuths at the premises of realtors and jewellers in Chandigarh and adjoining areas of Punjab and Haryana, an official said on Saturday.
"In two days of raids, I-T officials visited seven premises of real estate and infrastructure construction firms and jewellers in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula in Haryana. The department seized undisclosed income of nearly Rs 20 crore," a IT Department spokesman said.
Further investigations are expected to yield more unaccounted wealth as the documents and records seized are being examined, he said.
