Chandigarh:
A Nigerian national has been arrested with 49 bundles of fake currency notes at an
inter-state bus terminus in Chandigarh, police said today.
The Economic Offences Wing of the Chandigarh Police yesterday arrested the Nigerian, Joseph Prince Michael Chukwudozie, from the parking area of the Sector 17
Inter-State bus terminus, police said.
Joseph, who is from Ezegbo Lagos, was also not carrying proper documents and had not registered himself with the Foreigner Registration Office here.
The face value of the fake currency notes was yet to be ascertained, police said.
A case under a section of the Immigration Act has been registered and further investigations are on, police added.
