Chandigarh: A boy was today killed and nine other students were injured when a school bus carrying them turned turtle while negotiating a turn near Mallah Mor in Pinjore, Haryana, police said.
The accident occurred when the bus driver of a private school tried to avoid a collision with an autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction, Panchkula's Deputy Commissioner S S Phulia said.
A Class VI boy died while being rushed to PGIMER after the mishap.
The other students are undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.
Mr Phulia said that the area Sub Divisional Magistrate had rushed to the spot to ensure that the injured students get the best medical treatment and other assistance they may require.
