Chandigarh: President Pranab Mukherjee will visit Chandigarh today to attend a conference at the Centre for Research in Rural and Industrial Development (CRRID) in Chandigarh.
He will attend the inaugural session of the international conference on the project/programme 'Cooperative Development, Peace and Security in South and Central Asia' at CRRID today evening.
Punjab and Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar will also be present at the conference, an official release said in Chandigarh.
On October 1, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is also scheduled to attend the conference at CRRID.
An autonomous research institute, CRRID is one among the 27 research institutes in the country supported by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) New Delhi.
CRRID's primary focus has been on carrying out socially relevant research on rural and industrial development in the wider social, economic and political context, the release said.
