Five steps to a new government
- Outgoing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will formally resign at 12:30 pm tomorrow, after meeting his cabinet.
- Sources say Dr Singh will also address the nation after meeting President Pranab Mukherjee.
- Mr Modi, who was declared the BJP's prime ministerial candidate a year ago, is likely to take oath next week.
- The BJP's winning MPs are likely to meet tomorrow and formally elect Mr Modi as their leader.
- The Rashtrapati Bhawan has said it is up to the prime minister designate to choose the date of his swearing in.
