Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Riyadh on Saturday from Washington on a two-day bilateral visit to Saudi Arabia, on the third and final leg of his three-nation tour. The two countries are expected to further their ties with a few agreements during this visit.
Here are the latest developments:
"The reason for India's growth is its political stability," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his address to representatives of the three million strong Indian community in the Saudi capital.
"India's agriculture sector, manufacturing sector, services sector - India is progressing very strongly on all three fronts," Mr Modi said at the interaction.
The interaction followed a visit to the Al Masmak fortress in Riyadh. His office tweeted images of his visit to the fortress, labelling it "an evening with history."
An Indian Prime Minister is visiting the oil-rich Gulf kingdom after nearly six years. In 2010, then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had visited Saudi Arabia.
Mr Modi was received at the King Khalid International Airport by Governor of Riyadh, Prince Faisal Bin Bandar Al Saud. "Salaam Riyadh. PM @narendramodi arrives in Saudi Arabia to a ceremonial welcome, received by the Governor of Riyadh," Foreign Affairs ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup tweeted.
On Sunday afternoon, PM Modi will be given a ceremonial welcome at the Royal Court by Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
King Salman will also host a lunch in honour of the visiting Indian Prime Minister, followed by delegation-level talks and the signing of agreements.
The two-day visit and three-nation tour will come to an end on Sunday afternoon.
Earlier, PM Modi attended the 13th India-European Union (EU) Summit in Brussels and held a bilateral meeting with Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel.
From Brussels, Mr Modi went to Washington and took part in the Fourth Nuclear Security Summit hosted by US President Barack Obama in Washington.
