Vindoo Dara Singh was earlier interrogated by the police. Sources say he was named in the scam by Ramesh Vyas, one of the alleged bookies arrested by the Mumbai Police last week.
Ramesh Vyas reportedly has links with Sunil Dubai, an alleged mediator between bookies in India and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's brother Anees Ibrahim. Police believe he is a "prized catch."
Vyas has reportedly told his interrogators that Vindoo Dara Singh was friends with several influential bookies and allegedly facilitated them. Mumbai Police had reportedly taped telephonic conversations as evidence against him.

A court in Delhi today extended the police custody of the three tainted cricketers and eight others by another five days. It also sent four bookies to judicial custody for two weeks. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court today dismissed a petition seeking a stay on the remaining four matches of the Indian Premier League, but asked India's cricket board to ensure that "cricket should remain a gentleman's game".
Slamming the BCCI, the court said, "Definitely there is some kind of irregularity. But the biggest problem is the lackadaisical attitude of the BCCI. It should stop. There has to be some scientific dispassionate and impartial approach to solve these problems." (What the court said)
