Here are five big discussion points
PM Modi said in talks with President Obama, existing terror challenges including in South Asia and "new threats in West Asia" were discussed. India and the US have agreed on joint and concerted efforts, including dismantling of safe havens for terrorist and criminal networks.
President Obama shared that the peaceful transition of power in Afghanistan and the need for both countries to work together in the region was discussed.
India and the US have decided to renew a defence cooperation agreement for 10 more years.India has invited US defence firms to participate in its defence industry. Both countries also pledged to take forward the civil nuclear cooperation agreement.
PM Modi said he had told the US President that he hoped for a deal "soon" to allow a WTO trade facilitation deal blocked by India to go forward. He also asked Mr Obama to make it easier for Indian service companies in the US market.
PM Modi said the two countries will consult and cooperate on climate change, an area of strong priority for both nations.
