No Country Should Promote Terror: PM Modi in Malaysia

For me, India is not confined to its territory. India also exists in every Indian in every part of the world.

Terrorism is the biggest threat to the world today. It knows no boundary, uses religion but kills people of all faith. We have to delink religion from terror. The only distinction is between those who believe in humanity and those who do not.

When I say world must come together, it also means no country should promote terrorism. We have to make sure Internet does not become a recruiting ground.

The Swami Vivekananda statue is a reminder of the values we so deeply need to repair the fault-lines that are tearing our societies apart.

We have generations of our leaders for bringing us this far. But we have a long way to go. But we have faith in talent and enterprise of Indians.

The wheels of change have begun to move and they are gathering speed. And it is showing in numbers. India is the fastest growing major economy.

We are eradicating poverty with universal access to banking insurance. We are turning ports and airports to gateways of prosperity. We are facilitating business and creating digital infrastructure.

We are eliminating corruption at all levels and making governance driven by policy and systems not discretion of individuals.

Independent India owes a debt of gratitude to Malay-Indians. Thousands of your forefathers came forward to join Netaji Bose and the Indian National Army. We will name the Indian cultural centre after Subhash Chandra Bose.

70 years ago, a tragic and devastating war came to an end. I pay homage to the countless Indian soldiers who lost their lives. We are prepared to build a war memorial at the site of Battle of Kampar in Perak.
