Chennai:
Ten Indonesian nationals, who arrived in Chennai by air without tourist visa have been detained, airport sources said today.
The youths would be deported for Indonesia tonight, they said.
Investigation revealed that the youths, all in their late 20s and early 30s, left Indonesia for Dhaka and then to Singapore, from where they landed here at 10.30 PM last night, they said.
Immigration officials questioned them as to why they travelled to Dhaka and Singapore, when they could have directly flown to Chennai from Indonesia.
Though the youth claimed to have come as tourists, they neither possessed tourist visas nor return tickets, they said.
Investigation further revealed that they had plans to travel to Delhi by road or rail.
