Chennai:
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) today said it was probing the repeated collapse of glass panels at the international airport in Chennai.
"The glass pane (outer glass) on the mezzanine floor shattered at the international terminal on November 3. Since such incidents have occurred in the past also, AAI is investigating it," the AAI said in a release.
For the past several months, incidents of glass panels getting broken and false ceilings collapsing have been occurring at the Chennai Airport. Luckily, there was no injury to any of the passengers.
Against this background, the AAI has said that it was probing the cause "through consultants and executing agencies appointed for the purpose."
