Passengers had a narrow escape today when a glass pane fell from the roof close to them at the arrival enclave of international terminal in yet another such incident at the airport in Chennai.
Luckily, the five-feet pane did not fall on the passengers present in the immigration area, airport sources said.
This was the 28th such incident of glass panes, false ceiling and granite slabs falling off at the terminals built last year, they added.
Last month, Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju visited the airport following various complaints received by him through media and stakeholders regarding deficiencies in development of infrastructure as well as deficiency in maintenance standards.
