Chennai: Eight of 14 Injured in Twin Bomb Blasts Discharged
Chennai: Eight of the 14 injured in the recent twin bomb blasts on the Kaziranga Express, have been discharged from the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai following their complete recovery, hospital sources said.

"Passengers Jitendra Mohanto Deka, Altaf Khan and Murali were discharged on Friday. Yesterday and today a total of five persons have been discharged," a hospital official said.

He said 35-year-old Uma, Shaiful Haque (27), Sudanchand Debnath (64), Sari (21) and Sumantho Debnath (37) were those who were discharged from the hospital today.

A woman was killed and 14 were injured in the bomb blasts that occurred in quick succession on the Guwahati-bound train at the Central Railway Station here on May 1.

The Railways had announced an ex-gratia of Rs one lakh for the family of the deceased, 25,000 each to the seriously injured and Rs 5,000 each for those who suffered minor injuries.

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa had ordered CB-CID probe into the blasts and announced Rs one lakh ex-gratia to the family of the deceased, besides Rs 50,000 each to the grievously wounded and Rs 25,000 to those with minor injuries.
