Chennai : Chennai test-drove the coaches for its metro today.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa flagged off the short trial run of 800 metres at a metro rail depot.
The plans provide for the first phase of the metro to cover 45 kms for 14,000 crore rupees by the end of 2015. The first stage of this would be operational by the middle of next year.
