Chennai:
Tamil Nadu police on Wednesday announced a cash reward of Rs five lakh to for any information leading to the identification or arrest of culprits behind last week's twin bomb blasts in a train in Chennai that killed a woman.
"If any suspicious activity was noticed at the stations, on the platform or in train, the details may be communicated. A reward of up to Rs five lakh will be given for any information leading to the identification of the offenders or their apprehension," DGP K Ramanujam said.
Crime Branch-CID investigating the May 1 low-intensity blasts on Bangalore-Guwahati Express, that also left 14 persons injured, was pursuing all clues collected from the scene and leads furnished by passengers and a vast amount of CCTV footage was collected and being scrutinized, he said.
"To supplement the information, CBCID requests the public to come forward with any information they may have about the incident", he said in a statement.
He said any individual who has photographs or videos taken at any of the stations on the route or in the train during its journey on April 30 and May 1 could pass them on if they contain images of unknown or suspicious persons, adding the identity of the person providing information would be kept confidential.
