Chennai: woman employee robbed at ration shop
Chennai: In a robbery similar to the recent attack on a woman in a Bangalore ATM, a woman employee of a ration shop outside Chennai was attacked and robbed of her gold jewellery and Rs 13000 this evening.

The attacker, who is yet to be identified, downed the shutters, injured the sleeping woman with a sharp tool found in the shop and snatched her earrings and chain as well, says the police.

The woman was treated for minor injuries at a private hospital. According to police, the 40-year-old woman is the lone employee in the ration shop at Alandur, which has no CCTV cameras.

A senior officer told NDTV "We are following some leads. We suspect a known person to be behind this".

Just a few days ago, a pistol trotting man had attacked and robbed a woman at an ATM in Bangalore after rolling the shutters down. Though CCTV cameras had captured him, he's yet to be nabbed.
