Coast Guard Rescues 9 Stranded Fishermen In Chennai
This is the third rescue efforts by Coast Guard ship in the last two months
Chennai: Coast Guard saturday night rescued nine fishermen who were stranded in the mid-sea after the engine of their boat failed to operate in the mid-sea.

The fishing boat SS Jagath Kumar along with nine fishermen was drifting mid-sea this morning after a snag in the engine, an official release said.

The Coast Guard ship IC-4150 N located the boat about 18 nautical miles off Nagapattinam coast and safely towed it to Nagapattinam. It was later handed over to State fisheries Department officials.

This is the third rescue efforts by Coast Guard ship in the last two months and has saved 13 fishermen so far, it added.
