Chennai:
Two retailers were arrested in Chennai yesterday for allegedly selling fake automobile products of auto major Bajaj.
The Crime Branch-CID of Tamil Nadu Police said the fake products were mingled with genuine Bajaj auto spares and sold in Chintadripet area.
"Two persons have been arrested and an investigation is on," CB-CID Inspector S Alagarsamy told PTI.
According to the FIR, Enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights (EIPR), Mumbai, lodged a complaint with CB-CID based on an authorisation from Bajaj Auto Limited.
Separate cases have been filed against the accused under legal provisions including the Copyright Act.
Officials said the exact value of the products was yet to be ascertained.
