Chennai:
A London-bound British Airways flight from Chennai with 150 passengers on board was cancelled in Chennai today due to a technical snag.
The stranded aircraft is now expected to depart for its destination either tonight or tomorrow, an airport official said.
The British Airways flight BA36 was scheduled to take off for London's Heathrow Airport from the international airport at 5.35 am.
"The passengers, however, were informed of the cancellation only around 1030, almost five hours after boarding the flight," the official said.
After the passengers protested the delay, they were deplaned and are now lodged in various hotels in the city, the official added.
Airline officials were not available for comments when contacted.
