Chennai:
A woman techie in Chennai was critically injured after her throat was allegedly slit by her husband at a renowned software company where she worked.
According to police, the man attacked his wife in the office premises outside the city, and then slit himself when her colleagues tried to stop him in an attempt to commit suicide. The man was reportedly upset over his wife who had sought divorce.
Both of them have been admitted to a city hospital and are in critical condition.
According to police, the couple got married ten years ago when they were colleagues.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Adyar Sudhakar told NDTV, "The man appears to have come prepared with a pocket knife to attack her. Both have had an argument at the office earlier and then he has slit her. We don't know what he's now but when they got married he used to be a driver."
He's been arrested and police have registered a case of attempt to murder against him.
This chilling incident in an industry known for high security has shocked many in the city. Police are investigating the case.
