One killed in Chennai slum fire

Chennai: One person was charred to death when fire broke out in a slum in Srinivasapuram area n Chennai today, police said.

A large number of houses were engulfed in the fire that broke out this morning, they said, adding that the flames were doused soon.

Cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained, police said.
