Chennai: A petrol bomb exploded this morning outside the Tamil Jaya theatre in Madurai that's showing the blockbuster Baahubali film. No damage to life or property was reported in the incident.
Sources say the bomb was hurled by some members belonging to a local outfit called "Puratchi Puligal". Investigators say the group is angry over the way a Dalit community, Arundhadiyar, has been portrayed in the film.
"We have arrested seven people who had allegedly hurled the bomb. We are investigating," said Police Commissioner Shailesh Kumar Yadav.
There's no reaction yet from producers of the film, which is the most expensive movie to be made in India at Rs 250 crore. The film has set new records in box office collection.
