Rajinikanth's Superstar Gesture, Opens Up His Wedding Hall For Workers

Superstar Rajnikanth opened up his Raghavendra Mandapamin for sanitary workers

Chennai: Superstar Rajinikanth has opened up his Chennai's wedding hall for thousands of sanitary workers who've been brought from other districts to clean the city recovering after the recent floods.

The 'Kabali' star had opened up his Raghavendra Mandapamin in Kodambakkam locality for the workers from Namakkal, Karur,Salem, Dharmapuri and Tirupur, a press release from his office said yesterday.

"We are thrilled the superstar has let us stay here," says excited Kuppannan from Erode.

Many of the Chennai's 25,000 workers did not turn up for work as their families were affected by the floods. The Corporation has mobilised around 6,000 workers from other districts to remove the several thousand tonnes of garbage and discarded belongings.

"We've seen Rajinikanth do good deeds in films, now we experience it," said another worker SK Suriyan.

"We would request Rajini Sir to come and meet us here just once this evening when we are back from work," said Sithan amid loud cheer from others.

Last week, the actor had asked his fans to cancel his birthday celebrations on December 12 and instead focus their resources on flood relief and rehabilitation.

Besides monetary contribution actors like Arvind Swamy, Karthi, Nazer, Vishal and others are part of back end work mobilising relief and in his own way  Super star Rajinikanth too pitched in.
