Two held for allegedly running sex racket from massage centre

Chennai: A 35-year-old woman and her male accomplice have been arrested for allegedly running a sex racket and trying to force five women into prostitution, police said today.

Acting on a tip-off, an Anti-Vice Squad team raided a sixth floor flat in Gemini Square, running a 'massage centre,' where the two were found trying to force the women to prostitution.

The women were rescued and handed over to a rehabilitation centre in Mylapore, while the two were produced in a local court, they said.

Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police J K Tripathy has warned of severe action including detainment under the Goondas Act against those involved in prostitution.
