Chennai:
A 32-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday for making a hoax call two days ago that bombs were planted at Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa's residence, police said.
Tamizhselvi made the call to the police control room on Thursday from her husband Arul Das's mobile phone in an attempt to get him into trouble as he had deserted her, a police officer said.
After detailed search by the bomb detection squad, the call was found to be hoax.
A police team then rushed to Cuddalore, around 160 km from Chennai, where the phone's SIM card was bought and questioned Das.
Das told the police that the number was now being used by Tamizhselvi. She was arrested in city suburb Maraimalainagar.
