In a suspected case of food poisoning, around 100 inmates of Laxmibai National University of Physical Education (LNUPE) hostel here were taken ill, official sources said on Tuesday.
The students complained of vomiting and uneasiness after having meal on Monday night following which nearly 100 of them were admitted in two different hospitals, they said.
Around 400 inmates had taken the meal on Monday night and 100 among them complained of uneasiness and started vomiting, they said.
Twenty two students have been discharged after treatment while the rest are currently under observation, the sources said, adding all of them are reported to be out of danger.
LNUPE Vice Chancellor Major General (Retd) S N Mukherjee said an inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
