14 people injured in clash

Agra: At least 14 people were injured on Wednesday when villagers and followers of a religious sect clashed over possession of land in Lalgarhi area near here.

Residents of Lalgarhi allegedly attacked the satsangis, adherents of the Radhasoami sect, when they came to the village to collect food and water. A bus and jeep were also burnt down by protesters.

Aditya Misra, DIG of Police, said police contingents have been rushed to the village to bring the situation under control.

A case has been registered, he said.

Police said the clash between the two sides took place over possession of several acres of land in the area.
