Jalgaon, Maharashtra:
Two women died and over 150 people fell ill after they allegedly consumed untreated and impure water, police said.
The victims have been identified as Rukhmabai Shamrao Tayade and Bankabai Bhaltadak from Pimpri-Sekam in Bhusawal taluka.
Another woman Rakhmabai Ramsingh Chaudhary is said to be in a critical condition, they said. At least 150 residents were admitted to nearby hospitals in Varangaon and Bhusawal.
Following the incident, the enraged residents allegedly set the village panchayat office on fire.
