Faridabad:
The series of rape cases in Haryana refused to end as yet another woman, this time a domestic help, was criminally assaulted in the state's Faridabad district.
The 20-year-old victim alleged that she was raped by her master at his Sector 21(A) residence on Monday night when she was about to leave after wrapping up household works, police said.
The victim was hired through a Delhi-based placement agency which reported the case to the police.
She was sent for medical examination which confirmed rape, they said.
A case of rape has been lodged against the accused, ACP Ramesh Pal said, adding that a manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding accused.
With this, the total number of rapes in the state within a month has gone up to 15.
Chairman of National Commission of Scheduled Castes, PL Puniya had recently pulled up the state government for failing to check such crimes against women.
UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday also met the family of a Dalit teenage girl who immolated herself after being allegedly gang-raped in Jind district.
