Etah, Uttar Pradesh: The district administration has imposed fines of Rs 3.30 lakh on three persons for allegedly selling adulterated food items in Etah, an official said today.
Fines of Rs 1.20 lakh each were imposed on Rajveer of Sakeet village for selling adulterated sweetmeats (Barfi) and on Chandra Shekhar of Ganjdudwara for selling adulterated milk, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Satish Pal said.
One Babloo of Etah city was fined Rs 90,000 for selling adulterated rusks, Mr Pal said in a release in Etah.
The samples of sweetmeats, milk and rusks were taken from these business establishments and sent for testing following which they were found to be adulterated, he said.
A fine has been imposed on the three persons under relevant laws, the ADM said.
