300 houses destroyed in a fire in Bihar

Kishanganj, Bihar: A total 300 houses were gutted at Kathamata panchayat in Bihar's Kishanganj district on Thursday.

Kochadhaman block development officer Sanjay Kumar said the fire broke out in a the kitchen of one of the houses and spread to the adjoining areas gutting in all 300 houses, mostly thatched ones.

Property and household goods worth lakhs of rupees were razed inthe blaze, he said.

There was, however, no casualty or injury to any person in the fire, Kumar added.
