400 passengers stuck on runway for 10 hours

New Delhi: In the midst of delays caused by fog and flights not being allowed to take off because of Republic Day rehearsals, a flight from Delhi to Bangkok was parked on the runway for 10 hours.

Cathay Pacific Flight 708 has 400 passengers on board.  It was scheduled to depart at 4.30 am.

Passengers who phoned NDTV said they were not allowed to disembark for the entire 10 hours that their flight was delayed.  (Listen here to passenger's phone interview)

The airline claims that after the fog cleared, the crew's shift had finished, so a new crew had to be brought in and that added to the delay.

The flight finally took off at 2.30 pm.
