Orissa:
Excise personnel claimed to have busted an inter-state drug trafficking gang on Wednesday with the arrest of five persons, including four women from Chennai.
The police seized around 52 kg processed ganja from them at Sundhipalli, about 25 km from here. The processed ganja packed in four airbags and a box were seized from women smugglers yesterday while they were going in an auto rickshaw to a railway station at Berhampur from Tapatapani, a tourist spot in Ganjam district.
"We detained the auto during the patrolling. After thorough search, we found that the bags and the box which they possessed were packed with the cannabis," said Sub-inspector of Excise (Intelligence wing) S C Bhanj.
The auto driver identified as Surendra Behera of Pudamari was also arrested.
