6 Suicides in 24 Hours in Kanpur

Kanpur: Six persons, including two students, allegedly committed suicide in different parts of Kanpur, police said on Friday.

Apparently disturbed over for not performing well in exams, Dinesh, a B.Sc final year student, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the roof of his house in Daboli area on Thursday, they said.

A suicide note was also found in the room. In another case, a B.Sc first year student Dileep allegedly committed suicide on Thursday for not doing well in his exams in Jaroli area in Kanpur, police said.

In another incident, a girl, disturbed over her brother's death, allegedly committed suicide on Thursday evening by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house, they said.

Another person, Vishal, depressed over his illness, committed suicide in Parmat area on Thursday.

In Civil Lines area, a building contractor committed suicide by consuming poison on the same day. The reason for taking the extreme step is not known yet, police said.

In another incident, Santu Trivedi (38) allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the roof of his room in Bhauti area, police said.
