60-year-old dies in police custody in UP allegedly after he was beaten up by cops

Fatehpur: A 60-year-old Dalit man has died in police custody in Bindki area of Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh, allegedly after he was beaten up by the cops.

Rampal Sonker was picked up by the police during a raid at a gambling den. He died at the police station on Sunday night.

Agitated with the incident, angry villagers attacked and vandalised the police station. After their protest, a case was registered against eight policemen.
