65 students fall ill after tetanus shots

Fatehgarh Sahib (Punjab): Around 65 school students from Talania in Punjab's Fatehgarh Sahib were admitted to a hospital late on Thursday after they were administered TT (Tetanus Toxoid) and DPT (Diphtheria, Pertussis and Tetanus) injections, officials said.

Eighty six students - 41 from Class I and the remaining from class V - were administered the injections by a team from the local government dispensary in the morning.

SMO Dr Jaswant Singh said help from private hospital doctors were also taken.

There is no need to worry, Civil Surgeon Dr Reena Sandhu said adding she will mark inquiry in the case and take action against anyone found guilty.
