65-year-old man complains of fraudulent vasectomy

Rewa, Madhya Pradesh: A 65-year-old man on Tuesday filed a complaint with the District Collector in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district alleging that a vasectomy (sterilisation procedure) was performed on him at the district hospital without his knowledge.

Ramdeen Saket, in his complaint to Collector S N Rupla, stated that sarpanch and secretary of his village (Udhki) brought him to the hospital on February 9 on the pretext of getting him treated.

But, at the district hospital where he was taken, a vasectomy operation was performed, he alleged.

Saket has two sons, aged 35 and 25. His wife had undergone a family planning operation nearly 15 years ago.

But the hospital records show his age as 35.

The Collector told the reporters that he will get the matter probed.
