Midnapore:
73 people fell ill, 17 of them critically after consuming prasad at a function in Garbeta, around 100 kms from the state capital Kolkata on Saturday.
District authorities said the programme had taken place during the day at Lapuria village in West Midnapore district.
The critically ill were rushed to Midnapore Medical College Hospital, the sources said, adding the rest were being treated at Garbeta block primary health centre.
