ABVP victory proves Rahul 'magic' has failed, says Delhi BJP

New Delhi: Hailing victory of its students' wing ABVP in Delhi University Students Union election, BJP today said disenchantment of people of Delhi against Congress "misrule" has found expression in the outcome of the poll.

Delhi BJP chief Vijender Gupta, congratulating ABVP for its victory in the polls, also used the occasion to take a dig at Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, saying the result has proved that his "magic" has failed.

"The strong acrimony of people of Delhi and country against the Congress misrule has found expression in the victory of ABVP in Delhi. The Congress is no more ruling the hearts of the people. People want change now," he said.

ABVP has bagged three out of the four top posts in the Delhi University Students Union after a gap of seven years, giving a jolt to Congress' NSUI.

The Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad won the three posts, including that of the president, with convincing margins in an election that was marked by an unusually sober election campaign and very low voting percentage.
