Bangalore: Scared that the trees may fall on their houses during the rains, two families of SVG (Shantaveri Gopal Gowda) Nagar have been living outside their house from 25 days.
Once the rain and wind show starts, they come out of their houses because they fear that the electrical pole might also collapse.
Residents of the colony have requested BBMP officials for cutting the trees several times, but all they get is a bland "wait for a while and we will do it".
The families also contacted BESCOM but they were told that there was a shortage of manpower.
The frustrated families finally requested both counselors of ward no 103 and 127 for help, but that hasn't helped either.
Both counselors claim that the colony does not come under their constituencies. SVG colony is in between the two wards.
The BBMP had planted the trees 12 year ago, but failed to provide them sufficient nutrition and water, and the trees started to fall over a period of time. This started after the first rains this year.
When the MiD DAY team visited the place at 12.30 am, all members of the two families sitting outside, who told them they wanted to move to another place to save their lives.
Shivanna N, a resident, said, "We are frustrated. No one is interested in our plight" Venkattamma, another family member said, "We are living in hell, the government doesn't care."
