Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh: The Uttar Pradesh government today posted PAC officer Anees Ahmad Ansari as the new Senior Superintendent of Bulandshahr following suspension of Vaibhav Krishna after the gang-rape of a woman and her teenage daughter by bandits on gunpoint.

Ansari is the Commandant of 34th Batallion of Provincial Armed Constabulary.

Maan Singh has been posted as Additional SP in place of Rammohan Singh, who was also suspended yesterday, an official spokesman said here today.

Facing the flak from opposition, the government had suspended five officers, including the SSP.

The gang had brutally gang-raped a woman and her 13-year-old daughter on gunpoint on Friday night after dragging them out of a car in Bulandshahr on NH-91 when they were travelling with their family from Noida to Shahjahanpur.
