Ahmedabad:
An eight-year-old boy was allegedly murdered after being kidnapped, when his family failed to pay the full ransom amount of Rs 50 lakh demanded by the abductors in Kapodra area of Surat city, police said.
The minor, Yash Markana was abducted late night from near his home by a group of 10-12 unidentified persons in a black car and was taken to an unknown location, they said.
According to police, the kidnappers later contacted Yash's father Mukesh and asked him to pay Rs 50 lakh for his safe release.
Mukesh paid Rs 12 lakh to the kidnappers at an undisclosed venue within hours of abduction, police said.
Despite this, Yash's body was found from Udhna Darwaja area this morning, they said.
A complaint has been registered against unknown persons and further investigation was on in the matter, police said.
All exits of the city are being monitored and thorough checking was on, they added.
