Ahmedabad:
A five-month-old infant died after a couch accidentally collapsed on him. The incident happened when three eunuchs, who had come to bless the child, sat on the couch. The couch collapsed and the child who was in a hammock tied under the bed got crushed in the process.
The three eunuchs had arrived at Rajkumar Rajput's house in Gulaabnagar, Amraiwadi, on Monday morning at around 11 o'clock. They had come to bless Rajput's son Kunwar.
"The child was sleeping in a hammock, made from a dupatta, under the couch. But soon the couch collapsed under the weight of the three eunuchs fell on the baby," police said.
The child sustained severe head injuries after the iron couch fell on him. The parents rushed the infant to LG hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
