Jaipur:
Nine former SHOs of Ajmer district were today arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and sent to judicial custody for allegedly paying bribe to their seniors.
They turned up before the investigating agency today, following which they were arrested and produced before a local court, Additional SP (ACB) Arjun Singh said.
The court remanded them to judicial custody till July 23.
"Dy SP rank official Gopal Verma and eight inspectors, all of them under suspension, are the nine SHOs who have been arrested in the case," Additional SP ACB Arjun Singh said. The ACB had last year busted a corruption racket under which the then SP Rajesh Meena and Additional SP Lokesh Sonwal allegedly used to extort monthly bribe from SHOs, including the nine arrested, through a middleman, he said.
The then SP and Additional SP along with their middleman were arrested last year.
