Alleged molester says framed by 'victim'

Mumbai: The police are investigating whether a 55-year-old soda factory owner in Mumbai molested his 20-year-old employee at his factory recently.

According to the police, the accused, Satinder Singh Nanda alias Bhaiyya, who owns Simron Food Processors Pvt Ltd at Sheel Phata near Mumbra, allegedly tried to molest the girl on March 23.

Nanda now says that the allegation is false, and the victim is trying to harass him after he caught her stealing.

According to Daighar police, Farida Sheikh (name changed) was asked to make tea when Nanda entered the room and misbehaved with her. The girl began screaming and Nanda fled the scene.

"My boss had been trying to get my attention for a while, but I had ignored him. He tried to hug me while I was making tea for him. Then, he threatened me and said that he would kidnap me and kill my child if I complained to anyone. Now, he is accusing me of trying to steal an ice cream machine battery, but neither of these things even exist in the factory," said Farida.

The girl has now written a letter to the Daighar police station but alleges that the police are refusing to register the complaint as Nanda is an influential person.

Factory manager Sayed Mohammad Adil (25) confirmed the incident. "I was not in the office when the incident happened, but when I returned, I found the girl weeping. I asked Nanda to come and apologise to the girl but he began threatening me. We decided to lodge a police complaint on March 27," he said.
