Amravati:
Police have arrested three persons from Amravati and seized fake currency with face value of Rs 4.64 lakh from them.
Over Rs 75,000 in cash was also seized from the trio.
Two of them were nabbed from Amravati on Tuesday and one on Wednesday morning from adjoining Yavatmal district, the sources said.
They were identified as 20-yr-old Alimoddin Tamijuddin, 22-yr-old Chahanoor Sheikh Johil Sheikh and Milu Manglu, all belonging to West Bengal, police sources said.
The alleged ring leader of the fake currency racket, identified only as Shyamala, is absconding, the sources said.
Assistant Police Commissioner Shrikant Mahajan said the fake notes may have been printed in Pakistan and brought to West Bengal via Bangladesh.
According to the sources, the fake currency network was also active in other parts of Vidarbha.
