Amritsar: An explosive-laden abandoned Maruti car with a fake Delhi registration number plate was found near Amritsar main railway station on Saturday, police said.
Police Commissioner of Amritsar, Varinder Kumar Sharma said the car containing a detonator and two packets of explosive material was traced following a tip-off by the owner of a eat-out and nearby shopkeepers.
On searching the car, police found two packets explosive material weighing nearly two kilograms and one detonator, Sharma said adding the explosive material was being sent to forensic lab.
Police have so far failed to trace the owner of the car.
