Ajmer:
Ajmer Superintendent of Police Rajesh Meena and Additional Superintendent of Police Lokesh Sonwal were raided on Wednesday and over Rs 2 lakh in cash seized.
The money had been allegedly extorted from chiefs of police stations in Ajmer district through a man identified as Ramdev. A team of the Anti-Corruption Bureau caught Ramdev at Mr Meena's official residence with the money.
"When the team entered Rajesh Meena's house, he was sitting with Ramdev and the bag was on the table. They could not give a satisfactory reply about the money. Ramdev has admitted he used to collect money on behalf of Meena," said Umesh Mishra, Inspector General, Anti-Corruption Bureau.
No arrests have been made, he said.
Mr Meena is posted as Ajmer Superintendent of Police since October 2011.
