New Delhi:
Three months after two British nationals were arrested from Radisson hotel in New Delhi, the hotel is back in news. This time, three Italian nationals who had stayed in the hotel have been detained by the police in Mumbai and Pune for hiding ammunition in one of the rooms.
Initial investigations suggest:
"We found that the laptop baggage had a cartridge like thing that was not checked properly. We are investigating the rest," said Deputy Commissioner of Police HGS Dhaliwal.
The three have told the police they are businessmen and are in India to strike a deal in the oil sector.
Special Cell of the Delhi Police have now taken over the case. Their work is cut out to find out how the ammunition reached the Italian nationals and is this is part of as greater plot.
Initial investigations suggest:
- The three arrived in Delhi from Milan on May 23
- They stayed at Radisson for just seven hours
- Hotel's staff found two magazines and 24 cartridges in a polybag while cleaning the room
"We found that the laptop baggage had a cartridge like thing that was not checked properly. We are investigating the rest," said Deputy Commissioner of Police HGS Dhaliwal.
