Kharswan, Jharkhand:
A 15-month-old girl was allegedly axed to death, by her mother, in Jharkhand today.
Puja Pradhan, was reportedly behaving abnormally since her return from parent's home a fortnight ago. Today, suddenly, she turned on her daughter and started hitting her with a sharp weapon, Officer-in-Charge of Kharswan police station Animesh Gupta said.
The infant died instantly.
Puja, who was arrested later, confessed to her crime but did not cite any reason for why she attacked her baby.
The infant's body has injury marks at at least six places and been sent for post-mortem.
